Stephens comment: Well, after the UK release I did a gig at a place called "sound republic" in london.
Representatives from the US label Priority records were at the gig and wanted to release the record in the US. However Priority felt that we needed a single 2 go 2 radio with and they were willing to let me work with some very heavy people to get it.So I got the chance to work with Raphael Saadiq and 2 Danish producers based in LA at the time called Soulchock and Carlin.
So the US version of what was still my first album is the same as the UK version exept that we added the tracks "If I was your man"(co-written and produced by Raphael Saadiq) and "I can't do that" co written and produced by Soulchock and Carlin.
